Cadillac Glow - Acadia National Park

The summer solstice, June 21, is the day with the most daylight out of any day in the year. So what better day to wake up wicked early and photograph sunrise from the top of Cadillac Mtn, one of the first places the sun hits on the East Coast?

Cadillac Mtn is located in the center of Acadia National Park on Mt Desert Island, near Bar Harbor, ME. Luckily, there is a road to the summit. I woke up at 3:30AM and started driving towards the summit, hoping the low clouds would clear and my early rise would be worth it. As the sky lightened and I got to the summit, the sky began to glow a brilliant orange color. I scampered around the granite rocks of the summit and finally found this composition.
