One of my favorite parts of landscape photography is exploring locations close to home that I never would have otherwise visited. Ridgevale Beach in Chatham is a perfect example of this type of exploration.
My dog and I were killing a couple hours of time before dinner and we drove towards Chatham, intending to shoot one of the lighthouses. On the way towards the ocean, I spotted a sign for Ridgevale Beach Road and decided to check it out. It's an awesome spit of land with a beautiful boardwalk and long expanses of wavy dunegrass. The dog and I didn't last very long because the late February wind was driving blasts of sand and frigid air across the beach, but the few pictures that I took remain some of my favorite Cape Cod shots.
