This image comes from one of my lifetime favorite photography trips. I drove down from Bozeman to Jackson and met up with my buddy Scott Hotaling. Scott is one of the best landscape photographers I know so I was excited to spend the weekend in the Tetons with him.
Although we ended up bailing on our optimistic plans for an overnight ski tour, we still had a great weekend car camping up Gros Ventre Road. We woke up wicked early one morning and trecked a few miles across the Hoth-like landscape to get to Moulton Barn for sunrise.
Moulton Barn is supposedly the most photographed building in the country, but we were the only people around for miles on this frigidly cold March morning. The sun gradually rose behind us and lit up the clouds scudding along the peaks of the Teton Range.
