Sentinel

I'm not a huge fan of wildlife photography. I think it's really impressive when other people are very good at it, but it's never been something I've enjoyed myself. This photo is the exception, however.

I was driving north out of Grand Teton National Park when I spotted this moose grazing off the side of the road. I stopped to watch for a while and as I was watching the crowds pulled back and the tips of the mountains started to poke through. I scrambled for my tripod and camera and came away with this shot. It's a pretty cool landscape in it's own right, but the moose really grounds the scale of the shot and adds some life to it.

I hung out watching this bull for a while and eventually a cow and calf wandered out to join him.
